    On the DC side of a PV power plant, the combiner box, as a critical node between the panel array and the inverter, directly determines the overall operation and maintenance efficiency and safety level of the plant through the accuracy and reliability of its data acquisition. Acrel's AGF series PV combiner acquisition devices are specialized equipment designed to address these fundamental monitoring needs.

    Product Functions and Parameters

    The AGF series is divided into three core models to cater to different combiner box scenarios, covering all needs from small residential applications to large ground-mounted power stations:

    • Core Positioning: Multi-string monitoring of standard combiner boxes, 4-24 channels of DC current acquisition
    • Measurement Capability: String Current: DC±18A/±20A (Hall sensor isolation measurement, 0.5-level accuracy)

    Bus Voltage: Maximum DC 1500V (compatible with 1500V photovoltaic systems, built-in 1kV fuse protection)

    Function Configuration

    o 3-channel switch input: Acquires DC circuit breaker and surge protector status

    o Built-in temperature sensor: Real-time monitoring of combiner box internal temperature

    o Sensor Interface: External irradiance, wind speed, and string temperature sensors, supports DC24V external power supply

    o Installation: 35mm standard DIN rail, compact size, compatible with standard combiner box enclosures  

     

    AGF-T Series (Perforated Type, Easy Installation)

    • Core Advantages: Perforated non-contact measurement, no need to disconnect PV cables, direct monitoring via cable threading, suitable for compact spaces and retrofit projects.
    • Number of Channels: 4/8 perforated inputs, maximum current per hole 20A
    • Features: Strong isolation, zero installation risk, compatible with different cable diameters, reducing wiring faults.

     

    Core Role in Combiner Boxes and PV Systems

    1. String-Level Fine-Grained Monitoring: Real-time acquisition of current in each PV string, comparison of data between strings, rapid identification of component shading, aging, microcracks, loose wiring, and diode faults, solving power generation losses caused by traditional "blind combiner" systems and improving overall power generation.
    2. Equipment Safety and Status Management: Real-time monitoring of DC circuit breaker open/close status, surge protector failure status, and combiner box internal temperature, providing early warning of overheating, short circuits, surge protector failure, and other safety hazards, preventing the escalation of DC-side faults and ensuring power station fire safety.
    3. System Data Support and O&M Optimization: Provides comprehensive DC-side data for power plant O&M, combining irradiance and temperature parameters to analyze string generation efficiency, guiding component cleaning, fault replacement, and inefficient string upgrades, achieving "data-driven O&M" and reducing manual inspection costs.

    Adaptation to IDC and Green Energy Scenarios (Suitable for projects like Xingyu Cloud): In photovoltaic/energy storage systems with AI data centers and cloud computing centers, the AGF series can accurately monitor green electricity DC-side input.

    Combined with the AGF-AE anti-reverse current function, it achieves "self-consumption with surplus electricity not fed into the grid," meeting IDC green electricity certification and grid connection requirements, and contributing to the low-carbon operation of data centers.

    Large-scale ground-mounted photovoltaic power stations: 16/24-channel AGF-M series, equipped with large-capacity combiner boxes for centralized monitoring.

    Commercial and industrial rooftop photovoltaic: 8/12-channel AGF-M/T series, compatible with rooftop distributed combiner boxes, easy to install.

    Residential/balcony photovoltaic: 4-channel AGF-T through-hole type, small size, no need for wiring, compatible with small combiner boxes.

    Photovoltaic + Energy Storage System: AGF-M monitors photovoltaic strings, AGF-AE monitors grid connection point anti-backflow IDC.
