    IT House reported on January 26 that recently, China Mobile Research Institute and Huawei completed field tests of 700MHz/900MHz dual-band dual-mode base stations in six cities in Yunnan Province, including Tengchong, Chuxiong, and Lincang, verifying the ultra-long range of the product.     According to reports, the base station supports 5G and 4G sharing the same site, construction, and coverage, which can promote the reduction of network construction costs, promote 5G and 4G signal coverage, and help the national "signal upgrade" special action to be implemented quickly.

    According to previous reports from IT House, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other national ministries and commissions issued the "Notice on Carrying out the Special Action for "Signal Upgrade" earlier this month, proposing a new goal of "significantly improving mobile network (4G and 5G) signals" in rural scenarios in towns and villages.

    China Mobile is researching high-efficiency and low-cost 4G and 5G coverage solutions to address the difficult, long-term and high-cost problems of establishing stations in remote rural areas. In response to the above problems, China Mobile proposed an ultra-wideband comb screening intermodulation model and a dual-band integrated radio frequency link architecture to overcome the technical problems of cross-band passive intermodulation elimination and single-channel large-bandwidth application, and worked with industry partners to achieve Dual-band RRU with low intermodulation, high sensitivity, low power consumption and high efficiency. Based on this, we have successfully developed a 700MHz / 900MHz dual-band dual-mode base station that supports 5G and 4G standards.


    In this field trial in Yunnan Province, the 4G uplink rate of the dual-band base station can reach 32Mbps and the downlink rate can reach 64Mbps; the 5G uplink rate can reach 139Mbps and the downlink rate can reach 252Mbps.


    China Mobile officials stated that this product can save up to 20% of construction and operation and maintenance costs, reduce network construction and operation and maintenance investment, and provide guarantee for China Mobile to accelerate network coverage in remote rural areas.
